Some common shortcut key functions for navigating the map include: Pan: Left Click on the mouse and hold down while dragging Pan: Use arrow keys to pan Recenter the map: SHIFT + Left Click mouse Zoom In: Mouse Scroll Forward Zoom Out: Mouse Scroll backwards Use Arrow keys to pan + key to zoom in a level - key to zoom out a level Double Click to Center and Zoom in

A variety of searches can be performed in the search box located in the upper left of the map. This search tool can locate addresses and/or a place on the map. Users can choose the type of locator service using the dropdown arrow on the search bar.

• Locate Address: Right click location on the map. A pop-up window will open with two options to Get Address Here and Directions. The Get Address allows to get address on the map click position where as The directions feature allows you to customize your routes starting and end points based on the address location you choose.
• Search by Address
• Search by Place Name
• Search By Zip Code, County, etc.

In addition to searching capabilities, the following map tools are available in the table of contents to the left of the map:

• Add Layer
  A layer widget/tool that lists or organize layers that contains important spatial information about the city of baltimore services and facilities, so that users can add the layer/s on the map and visualize their spatial distriubtions. Users can change the level of visible layers opacity, they have the options also to rearrange layers visibility by selecting a layer and click apply button. Here under is the general procedure how to add a layer and get the desired spatial information.
  
  In "Add Layer" widget (Click on the widget if it is not open), there are two options- item "A" and item "B" to add layers, item "C" which is only viewed if to or more layers added on the map and helps to re arrange layers by selecting layer to bring upfront and by clicking "Apply" button.
  
  In item "A" users can type the name of the layer to add on the map. Alternatively, users can select the name of the layer from the drop-down list.
  
  In item "B" There are two drop-down box lists, the first one lets users to organize layers by "Thematic Overlay" and the second box automatically lists those layers related to the selected thematic area name. Here users can also type or select the thematic name and then the corresponding layer in the box drop-down list.
  
  There is also a slider used to change the level of a layers Opacity. Users can drag this slider to the desired level. At the bottom of the slider there is/are button/s, if users added just one layer on the map, they see only one button- "Remove Top Layer." Remove Top Layer can be used to remove the added layer from the map. A user will not see item “C” when only one layer was added; Whereas, if they added more than one layer on the map, they see item "C" as well as one additional button-"Remove All." Remove All is used to remove all added layers on the map at once.

  In order to get attribute information about the layer(s). First, users should add layer(s) on the Map. Then, there are two options to show attribute information about the layer(s) :-
  
  * Users can click the feature(s) on the map, and the "Attribute Information" tool will open to show the list of attributes/fields information related to the selected feature(s) on the map.
  
  * Users can type an address or select from the drop-down list of filtered addresses in the address bar. For those features that intersect or meet with the selected address, the attribute information will be listed in the "Attribute Information" tool.
  
  
• Legend
  A tool that shows legends for those selected layers on the map
• Neighborhoods
  A tool that lists all neighborhoods in Baltimore city, and users can select from the list and spatially navigated to the selected neighborhood
• Search and Export
  A tool that is used to search specific information and display the attribute record/information of those selected features. After the user selects a layer, and then apply search by By Shape (using one of the drawing tools provided) the tool will extract those records and displayes results in a table view. Users also can export the attribute information of the layer/s in excel or csv file format.
• Bookmarks
  A tool that is used to bookmark any locations visited by the users on the map. Later, users can navigate to the bookmarked locations on the map.
• Draw
  A tool providing a drawing capability to users; users can draw a point, line, polygon and circle to perform an inquiry
• Measure
The measure tool provides the capabilities to draw a point, line, or polygon on the map and specify the unit of measurement.
• Directions
  A tool Provide direction information on the map between two points-From Source to Destinaton locations
• Attribute Information
  A tool Provide attribute information for each layers added/loaded on the map
• Print
  This tool allows the map to be printed in various formats, paper sizes and layouts.
• Share
  A tool used to share the map using twitter, face book, email accounts and to embed on a user’s website.
